Exo Terra's® Desert Sand is natural desert sand with no added dyes or chemicals. The sand has been sieved to remove impurities and achieve a homogeneous sand grain size.

Approximately one-third of the Earth's surface is desert, arid land with little precipitation that supports only sparse vegetation. Reptiles living in deserts have adapted to the arid environment, sand, and increased UV radiation. The Exo Terra® Reptile UVB150 is a light source specifically designed for desert terrariums. Desert Sand is also an excellent heat conductor for Exo Terra's® Heat Mat.
