Furcifer pardalis “Ambilobe”

Male F. pardalis can grow up to 50–60 cm in length, with an average length of 45 cm. Females are generally smaller, about half the size of males. Males are also much more vividly colored than females. Coloration varies with location, and different color patterns of Furcifer pardalis are generally called "localities" and are named after the geographic location in which they were found. F. pardalis from the Nosy Be and Ambanja areas are typically bright blue, while those from Antsiranana and Sambava are red, green, and orange. The Maroantsetra and Tamatave areas have predominantly red specimens. Many other colorations exist, and patterns vary both between regions and within a specific region. Female F. pardalis generally remain tan or brown regardless of the region they originate from, but there are small differences in coloration and patterning.
