Hygrophila pinnatifida is native to India. It has green, mottled leaves with a distinctive burgundy underside. It produces horizontal lateral shoots, and the upper shoots must be pinched to maintain compact, attractive growth. The horizontal lateral shoots attach easily to both wood and rocks. Growth is moderate, with stems 15-40 cm tall and 10-20 cm wide, and the color is attractive when planted in small groups against a plain background. Bright lighting ensures compact growth thanks to the plant's slow-to-medium growth rate. Also ideal for terrariums.
