AF Iodum

Concentrated iodine supplement. In marine aquariums, iodine is essential for the overall functioning of cells and the transfer of nutrients between them. Iodine is constantly consumed by tank inhabitants, so without supplementation, its levels rapidly decline. Corals use iodine to synthesize pigments that allow them to adapt to changing lighting conditions and protect fragile coral tissue from UV rays. Iodum enhances the dark blue and purple coloration of hard corals. Adequate iodine levels in the seawater tank support shrimp molting. Regular dosing of Iodum helps maintain iodine levels at the same level as natural seawater.

Dosage: 1 drop per 100 L of water daily. 1 drop of Iodum increases the iodine level by 0.01 ppm in 100 L of water. The recommended iodine level for aquarium water is 0.055–0.07 mg/L (ppm).
