Goldpods contain the copepod Calanus finmachicus (2 mm in size) of the calanoid family.
This is the ideal food for many species of delicate marine fish and LPS.

High quality raw materials are the basis of the product:
The secret of Nyos Goldpods is the top-quality ingredients.
Freshly collected copepods are treated with a special method developed at a Norwegian university.
This patented method deactivates the autolytic enzymes responsible for the breakdown of nutrients, such as fatty acids and proteins.
Furthermore, copepods are covered by an ultra-thin membrane made from natural marine components.
This prevents the release of important nutrients.

  • Extremely practical and quick to use: it can be administered directly into the tank with the included measuring cup or with a dropper.

  • It is also used in research, aquaculture and ornamental fish farming.

  1. At the University of Ancona, Dr. Ike Olivotto discovered that using calanus in clownfish farming had many positive effects on growth in size and weight.

  2. Commercial aquaculture companies such as Norsk Hummer AS achieved a significant increase in the survival of lobster larvae.

  3. A well-known Norwegian fish farm managed to produce eggs and male gametes from Pseudochromis fridmani at the unusual age of 6 or 7 months. Norwegian importers of ornamental fish have noted an increase in the survival of wild-caught fish.
