Dramatic textures and pristine sands make for a captivating waterscape

Ryuoh Riverbed is a captivating substrate that invites you to recreate the dramatic beauty of a natural riverbed in your aquarium or paludarium. Imagine a harmonious blend of Heaven Sand and dark, angular Ryuoh pebbles and gravel, reminiscent of a riverbed sculpted by the relentless forces of nature. This captivating combination adds depth, texture, and a touch of untamed beauty to your aquatic landscape.

The pristine white of the sky sand provides a stunning contrast to the dark, rugged textures of Ryuoh stones, creating a visually striking and dynamic environment. Whether you're recreating a natural riverbed biotope or simply adding a touch of drama and natural charm to your aquatic environment, Ryuoh Riverbed provides the perfect foundation for your artistic vision.

Ryuoh Riverbed is not only visually appealing, but also a healthy and safe choice for your aquatic pets. Its natural composition is non-toxic, and while some pebbles may slightly affect water hardness, the sand is 100% inert, making it a perfect option for all types of aquariums with regular water changes. It's also easy to handle and spread, making it a convenient choice for aquascapers of all skill levels.

Use

Pre-washed: Ready to use, although an additional rinse may be required to ensure cleanliness.

Riverbed placement: Spread the substrate evenly along the bottom of the empty tank or terrarium. Pour the substrate gently from a low height to avoid scratching the aquarium glass.

Standalone or mixed: Use alone for a dramatic, high-contrast base, or combine with other WIO sands and gravels for a custom substrate look.

Decorate and Plant: Arrange rocks, driftwood, and plants for a serene, nature-inspired landscape.

Filling the tank: Pour water carefully, avoiding direct flow onto the substrate.

Pro tip: Pour water on a plate or garnish to minimize disruption.

Finishing touch: Use a mesh to skim off any floating particles, then turn on the filter and watch any remaining cloudiness disappear within a few hours, leaving a clear, natural finish.

Easy maintenance: Regularly, for example, with each water change, gently vacuum the substrate to remove any accumulated debris or algae.

Water parameters: This riverbed sand is inert, but the pebbles can slightly increase the pH and carbonate hardness (kH) in your aquarium, which is usually not a problem and can even be beneficial for some fish and plants. However, if you have sensitive species such as shrimp or certain fish that prefer very soft water, regular water changes with soft water or RO water can help counteract this increase. You can also use buffering substrates or additives to control water parameters. Regular monitoring of water parameters is always recommended, especially when keeping sensitive species.
