Jackson's chameleon or horned chameleon ( Trioceros jacksonii ) is a large lizard belonging to the Chamaeleonidae family, widespread in East Africa.
The male is easily recognizable by the presence of three characteristic horns on its head, while the female has a smaller one in front of the eyes, often without any.
It measures about 35 cm in length and has a bottle green colour, in the case of the xantolophus there is a yellow band in the centre, on the abdomen of the animal, with bluish shades under and on the sides of the head
The eyes are independent: it can look up and down at the same time. The tongue is longer than the body and can be fully extended in five hundredths of a second and retracted in twenty.
